The equiwatt EV referral scheme has arrived!

Building a community is a real passion for all of us here at equiwatt. Not only does a bigger community mean that we will be able to have a bigger collective impact by saving more peak-time energy and reducing more CO2 emissions, but it also means that we can offer bigger and better rewards to everyone in the community too! 

That is why we were so excited to welcome electric vehicle owners to the equiwatt community recently. The EV community are a knowledgeable and friendly bunch of people who understand the significant role electric vehicle smart charging will play in helping our community have the biggest impact possible.

Our ‘Smart Home’ app referral scheme has already been a big success and we now are excited to launch a brand new referral scheme for all of our EV owners which means you can now reward yourself for sharing equiwatt with fellow EV owners!

After all, there is nobody better person than you to recommend rewarding ways to save energy to EV owning friends, family or colleagues!

How does it work?

Invite your EV driving friends, family and colleagues to sign up to equiwatt using your unique 4 digit referral code that you will find in the app. For each friend that signs up with your code and connects a compatible electric vehicle, you will earn 1000 bonus points (worth £10). 

Once the first five of your friends have signed up and connected a compatible electric vehicle, you will automatically earn an extra 1500 bonus points (worth £15). That means you could earn 6500 bonus points (worth £65) for inviting 5 friends to join and connect to equiwatt! 

What’s more, each of your friends that join equiwatt and connect a compatible electric vehicle will also receive 1000 bonus points (worth £10), so there is something in it for everyone!

How do I earn my bonus points?

All you need to do to start inviting your friends and family to join the equiwatt EV community is to open the equiwatt EV app on your phone and visit the community page (two people icon).

Once on the community page, simply select the ‘Referral’ button. You will then need to select the ‘Refer friends to connect an EV and earn 1000 points each!’ text. 

Next, select the ‘Share Invite’ button and follow the on-screen instructions to share your referral link and unique four-digit referral code with your friends via the platform of your choice (e.g. WhatsApp, SMS, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc).

When one of your friends signs up to equiwatt using your referral code and connects a compatible electric vehicle, you will receive a notification via the equiwatt app and it will be logged in the progress bar under the ‘Referral’ section of the community tab. Your 1000 points will also be added to your account automatically.

Once five of your friends have signed up with your referral code and connected a compatible electric vehicle to equiwatt, the progress bar in the community tab will turn blue and your extra 1500 bonus points will be added to your account automatically!

How do my friends get rewarded?

When your friends click on your unique referral link, they will be taken to the equiwatt website, where they will be able to download the equiwatt EV app for either Android or iOS. 

Once they have installed the equiwatt EV app they simply need to follow the on-screen instructions and enter your unique 4 digit referral code on the ‘Register’ page when prompted.

Once logged in they need to visit the ‘Manage’ tab and select ‘Add New Device’ to connect a compatible electric vehicle. Once they have successfully connected their EV they will be automatically awarded their 1000 bonus points!
