Equiwatt and Schneider Electric Collaborate to Revolutionise Energy Savings

We are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking collaboration agreement with Schneider Electric, a global energy management and automation leader. This collaboration marks an exciting step forward for equiwatt and Schneider Electric as we work together to empower households across the UK to play an active role in the country’s clean energy transition.
This agreement enables UK customers using Wiser smart home devices to participate in flexibility events, including the government backed National Energy System Operator’s (NESO) Demand Flexibility Service (DFS) via the free equiwatt app
What is the Demand Flexibility Service (DFS)?
The Demand Flexibility Service (DFS) initiative was first launched in 2022 by NESO, a public corporation of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). Returning for the third time this past winter, the DFS rewards households and businesses for reducing electricity usage during peak time events, helping to create a more balanced and sustainable energy grid. Last year, over 2.6 million households and businesses participated in DFS events, helping to save enough energy to power over 12 million homes for an hour.
Seamless Integration of Wiser Devices
In the first phase of this collaboration, equiwatt has successfully integrated Wiser devices, including the Wiser Smart Plug, Wiser Smart Thermostat and Wiser Electrical Heat Switch, into the equiwatt app. This integration allows Wiser users to effortlessly take part in equiwatt’s powerSmart events, where their devices will automatically switch off or reduce the temperature in the home to help lower the household's electricity usage and ease pressure on the grid during peak times.
By participating in these events, Wiser customers will earn points for reducing their electricity consumption. These points can be redeemed for eGift vouchers from over 35 popular high street vendors, including Amazon, John Lewis, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Aldi, and many more.
It’s a simple yet impactful way for households to save money, support a sustainable future, and be rewarded for their efforts.
