Can I verify my MPAN manually?

Please upload a copy of your electricity bill via the equiwatt app if you would like us to manually verify your MPAN for you.

If you are unable to verify your Smart Meter’s MPAN number using an In-Home Display (IHD) or a bank card then we can verify your MPAN number manually for you.

To enable us to do this for you, you will need to upload a copy of your electricity bill to us via the app when prompted. We will then manually verify your MPAN for you.

You do not need to send us your complete bill but simply the section that includes your name, address and MPAN number. 

If the name on your bill does not match the name on your account then you will need to provide proof of residence at the address where the MPAN is registered.

Acceptable documents include:
  • Current UK driving licence.
  • Utility bill (gas, satellite television, landline phone bill) issued within the last 3 months.
  • Tenancy agreement for the current year.
  • Local authority council tax bill for the current council tax year.

PLEASE NOTE: We currently manually verify user MPAN numbers in batches several times a week so please allow up to 5 working days for your MPAN to be verified.
